In a world where fast fashion reigns dominant, HAON continues to seek ways to instill a slower, more sustainable approach to its business model.

We will continue to update our customers with details of our ongoing environmental responsibility and the ways in which we are reducing our carbon footprint here and via our newsletter. 

MANUFACTURING

All of our shoes are delicately and expertly handcrafted. 

Each HAON collection is also produced in small batches to reduce over supply, and we are continually forging paths with our suppliers to improve the impact our materials and processes have on the environment.

MATERIAL

Where it is viable and makes sense for us to do so, HAON uses plant sourced, vegetable tanned leather. This is more ecological than synthetic tannin production.

Unfortunately however, vegetable tanned leather is not always an option, nor does it have the properties some of our shoes require. We are working
towards having at least 50% of our production line in vegetable tanned leather by the end of 2024.

CARE

We encourage our customers to take good care of your HAON pieces to ensure their longevity.

We recommend keeping your shoes in their dust bag and box, in a well ventilated room. It is important to remember that leather is an organic material, so changes in the leather and its appearance will take place over time.

We recommend using a natural leather conditioner to maintain your footwear and protect it from daily use.  

CIRCULAR FASHION 

Your HAON pieces will endure many seasons if they are taken good care of. When you're ready to part ways with your items, we encourage you to offer them back into the community where possible so that someone else can breathe new life into them. This could be by selling them via an online platform or local market, or donating them to someone in need. 

PACKAGING 

All HAON footwear comes with a dustbag and box. Whilst we are conscious that these are not the most sustainable solutions for now, we know how important it is, and have been committed to providing our customers with quality storage options that will maximise the longevity of your product.

We are currently investigating ways we can provide a more responsible solution to our packaging, ensuring the product remains protected before, and long after they reach you.
